A performance marketing team for your offer

If you are looking for an external media buying team to drive conversions to your product — rather than building an in-house buying department — this page explains what a performance marketing engagement looks like, how it differs from an affiliate network, and how Mobadly works with offer owners on KPI-based terms.

How we work with your offer

01.Brief

You submit the offer with vertical, GEOs, payout model and KPI definition.

02.KPI & caps agreement

Both sides confirm in writing what is billable, what is capped and what is prohibited.

03.Test

A capped pilot on agreed sources with postback verification.

04.Optimization

Sources and creatives are filtered by your approval data, not just conversion counts.

05.Scale

Volume grows only on cohorts that meet the agreed KPI.

What a performance marketing agency actually does

A performance agency plans, buys and optimizes media against a business result you define — not against impressions or clicks. Concretely: it builds a media plan around your target GEOs and payout economics, produces or adapts creatives, launches campaigns across its sources, filters fraud and low-quality placements, and reports against the events that matter to you — registrations, deposits, sales. You pay for validated results under the agreed model (CPA, CPL, FTD, hybrid), and the agency absorbs the cost of testing sources that do not work. Mobadly combines this with its own in-app traffic network, so part of the volume comes from direct, controlled inventory rather than purely external buys.

Agency versus affiliate network

An affiliate network is a marketplace: your offer is listed, and independent affiliates choose whether to promote it. You get reach, but limited control over who runs your offer, how they present it, and which sources they use — policing misrepresentation becomes your job. An agency engagement is a managed relationship: one accountable team runs the buying, follows your creative and compliance rules, and answers for source quality. Networks scale breadth; agencies scale accountability. Many offer owners use both, for different layers of their funnel — but if brand control and source transparency matter, the managed model is the closer fit.

How a KPI-based engagement is structured

A serious engagement starts with a brief: your vertical, product, GEOs, payout model, the exact billable action and its validation logic. Then KPI terms are fixed in writing: payout, caps, hold period for validation, approval criteria and what happens with disputed conversions. A capped pilot follows — small enough to limit both sides' risk, large enough to produce statistically meaningful approval data. Scaling happens in steps, each gated by the previous cohort's quality. What you should expect throughout: placement-level or source-level reporting, postback access, and a named person who can explain where your conversions come from.

What you should prepare

An external team can only be as good as the inputs you give it. Before onboarding, prepare: a working tracking setup with postbacks (Keitaro, Everflow, Affise, TUNE, CAKE, Binom, RedTrack or your own); your real unit economics — what a validated conversion is worth to you, including processing costs; creative guidelines and legal constraints; and someone on your side who can answer approval and quality questions within a business day. The faster your approval feedback loop, the faster the buying side can cut bad sources and scale good ones. Our KPI checklist covers the twenty points worth closing before launch.

When outsourcing buying makes sense

Outsourcing pays off when your bottleneck is media expertise or volume, not the product. If your funnel converts and you can validate leads quickly, an external team adds buying power immediately. If your funnel is unproven, a good partner will tell you to fix the funnel first — buying traffic into an unmeasured funnel burns budget and teaches nothing. The honest first step is the brief: submit your offer with its economics, and the fit discussion — including whether we are the right buyer for it — happens before any money moves.

What you get

  • Managed media buying against your KPI
  • Reporting on conversions and validation status
  • Fraud filtering and source quality control
  • Dispute resolution against written terms and logs

What we need from you

  • Tracking with a working postback on the billable event
  • Creative rules and legal constraints per GEO
  • Fast approval feedback on leads and conversions
  • License confirmation where your vertical requires it

Transparency

Reports, postbacks and disputed conversions are handled against written KPI terms and logs on both sides. Payout models, schedules and hold periods are agreed individually per offer and confirmed in writing before traffic starts.

FAQ

Q.What is the difference between a performance agency and a traditional agency?

A traditional agency bills for spend, hours or deliverables. A performance agency bills against results — validated actions under CPA, CPL, FTD or hybrid terms — and carries the media risk itself.

Q.Do you work as an agency or as a network?

Mobadly combines both: a media buying team that runs campaigns against your KPI, plus an in-app ad network that supplies direct inventory. Your engagement is managed — you have an accountable counterpart, not an open offer listing.

Q.How are payouts and holds agreed?

Payout model, validation hold, approval criteria and caps are fixed in writing before the pilot. Specific terms depend on your vertical and funnel and are discussed individually — we do not publish standard rates.

Q.Who owns the creatives and the data?

Your brand assets and approval data remain yours. Campaign-level learnings — which sources and placements convert — are shared with you in reporting. Source-level details are shared to the degree the transparency agreement defines.

Q.Can you work with our in-house team?

Yes. A common split: your team owns brand campaigns and app stores, we own performance sources that require buying expertise and fraud filtering. Boundaries are set during onboarding so nobody bids against each other.

Q.What GEOs can you cover?

Coverage depends on the vertical and licensing. Tell us your target GEOs in the brief — we confirm where we can run your offer and where we cannot, before any commitment.

Q.How do you control fraud?

Postback-level deduplication, placement-level filtering, device and behavioral signals, and reconciliation against your approval data. The traffic quality page describes the full approach.

Q.What does it cost to start?

Under performance models there is no media fee — you pay for validated results under the agreed payout. The practical cost of starting is your tracking setup and the time to agree KPI terms in writing.
