What a proper CTV report shows
CTV reporting should answer four questions at a glance: how many impressions were delivered, how much revenue they produced, what the effective eCPM was, and how much of your ad opportunity was filled. The useful granularity is per day, per platform, per GEO and per placement or channel. Averages across everything hide the story — a single strong GEO can mask regions where fill is collapsing. If a report cannot be broken down by these dimensions, you cannot manage your inventory, only observe it.
How revenue is calculated
CTV revenue accrues on delivered, measured impressions priced per thousand (CPM). Behind your payout number sits a chain: impressions validated by measurement, multiplied by the prices campaigns actually paid, minus the agreed share for demand and technology. This is why independent measurement matters so much in CTV — the impression count your payout is based on should be verifiable by a third party, not only by the partner paying you. We consider it fair practice that publishers can reconcile reports against their own player or SSAI statistics.
The metrics worth watching weekly
Four metrics, weekly, per platform: fill rate — the share of ad opportunities that returned an ad; eCPM — effective revenue per thousand impressions; error rate — VAST and playback failures that silently eat fill; and impressions per viewer-hour — your actual ad load. Together they explain every revenue movement you will ever see. When revenue drops, one of these moved first, and the breakdown shows which one.
How payout terms are structured
Across the industry, CTV payouts are periodic — commonly monthly after a reconciliation period — with a minimum threshold and an agreed payment method. What the schedule, minimum and methods are for your partnership is agreed individually and fixed in writing before campaigns run: Mobadly does not publish invented payout numbers on the site. The same applies to the revenue model — the share and pricing structure are part of your individual agreement.
Discrepancies: normal and not normal
Small gaps between your player statistics and a partner's report are normal — measurement timing, error filtering and fraud removal all trim counts. Large or unexplained gaps are not. A healthy partnership has a defined reconciliation process: which measurement source governs, how discrepancies are investigated, and how rejected impressions are reported. Agree this in writing at the start; month-end should be a formality, not a negotiation.
Getting started
The sequence is: register as a publisher with your inventory type — CTV app, FAST channel or web video; pass the inventory review (verification files, audience quality, measurement correctness); then receive your individual commercial terms — model, schedule, minimums — confirmed in writing. Nothing is promised before the review, and nothing starts without your written agreement.
FAQ
Q.How often are payouts made?
Payout schedule and frequency are agreed individually with each publisher and confirmed in writing before campaigns start. The industry norm is monthly after reconciliation, but your exact terms are part of your agreement.
Q.Is there a minimum payout?
A minimum threshold, if applicable, is part of the individual terms confirmed in writing. We do not publish thresholds on the site because they depend on the partnership structure.
Q.What pricing model is used for CTV?
CTV inventory is priced on CPM — per thousand delivered impressions. The commercial structure of your partnership, including revenue share, is agreed individually after the inventory review.
Q.Can I verify your numbers against my own?
Yes, and you should. Publisher-side player or SSAI statistics are the reference point for reconciliation, and the reconciliation rules are part of the written agreement.
Q.What report granularity is available?
Reporting breakdowns — by day, platform, GEO and placement — are defined in onboarding. The principle we follow: you should be able to see every dimension that explains your revenue.
Q.What happens to rejected or invalid impressions?
Invalid traffic is filtered by measurement, and how rejections are reported and handled commercially is fixed in the written agreement before spend — not improvised at month-end.
Q.Do you support ads.txt and sellers.json?
Verification files are a standard part of connecting demand. The exact declarations for your account are provided during onboarding so your app-ads.txt stays accurate.
Q.How do I start?
Register through the publisher form, choosing CTV app, FAST channel or web video as your inventory type. Review comes first; terms are agreed individually and confirmed in writing.
